Catch Up Time.

I have been lagging in my posts, I have been a bit busy. Catch up time.....

I had a battle a week ago yesterday. 500pts a piece against chaos. Not being able to recall my list exactly, I had a crusader squad, the initiates I can't remember but I had 4 neophytes as my meat shield. 5 man bolter squad with a meltagun. A 5 man assault pack squad with a power weapon and Chaplian.

I was against slaaneshi chaos. The Lord rolled on the boon table - shred.

We set up and he went first, moved his men in position, I had my go and, well as for a Black Templar army nothing stood still and there was lots of running.

Second turn he got his bolters into range and unleash 10 bolter shots and 2 plasma gun shots into my man mob (assault squad hidden behind a building).

As normal the black tide surged forward.

His third turn, he moved all his men backward and shot his salvo again. My assault squad charged The Lord, I6 lord bs I4 marines, I expected losses, he rolled to hit with 4A, all shit..... Dammit.

The roll to wound..... 2,2,1 and 2!! Yes!! I thought! Going to give you a hammering now!!!

Shred.

4,4,6, and 6!

Ahhh poooo!

Catch Up Time.....

I apologise for my lack of posts for the last 6 days. My work and social life have been hectic, but the most time consuming part of my life was getting.....

and what a read it is!

As a Black Templar player, I enjoyed reading all of the codex, not just the BT specific parts/rules. It has been a 'kid in the candy store' kind of thing regard the new Codex.

Writing lists left, write and centre (yes pun intended) over different sets of points values.

Yes the 'Vanilla Marines' get a few more special characters compared to most chapters, I can't complain personally as a BT player, we get 3, and we are a second founding chapter. Whereas the White Scars, a first founding chapter, gets only 1. I guess it has to do with the popularity of the said chapters really.

Getting my painting groove on too. Some pieces to be shown soon, but beware they are works in progress.

Until next time my fellow zealots.

Getting It Right

After deciding on a colour scheme for making Sergeants, Vanguard and Characters stand out with their own 'rank structure armour' paint scheme.

For example an Initiate will have normal white shoulder pads, black helmet and red tabbard.

Sergeant of that unit with have the same as above but have a white helmet.

A sword brother leading that unit will have red shoulder pads and a white helmet.

My vanguard (which are all effectively sword brothers/brethren) will all have red shoulder pads and white helmets, but the leader of that unit will have a white tabbard noting his veterancy and respect.

To make sense if this my emperors champion had a white tabbard as does my Helbrecht (when he's finished).

In my army a white tabbard is of high rank and leadership.

Neophyte -> Initiate -> Sergeant -> Sword Brother -> Sword Brother Squad Leader -> Castellan -> Marshall -> High Marshall.

Obviously with the Emperors Champion it's anyone who has the 'vision'.

That's how I do my ranks and leadership structure, so before I get people saying well that's not right it's how my Crusade is working.

I spent a bit of time trying to get the right kind of red for the shoulder pads today. Please note it's just the bit in the middle, the surrounding is not finished.

Overall I'm happy with how it turned out and the process!

Getting My Paint On.

Having spent a few hours getting some painting done over the past few days, I'm getting quite a bit of pace picking up with my painting and getting back into the swing of things.

My 'batch' I'm painting now is my Helbrecht, my converted Chaplain, 5 Vanguard jump pack squad and my dreadnought.

Doing a theme through out the army.

- Cruaders will have the normal black helmets with red tabbards.
- Sergeants will have white helmets, red tabbards.
- Vanguard, they will all have white helmets and red tabbards, but the Sergeant of them will have a white tabbard
- Emperors Champion will have red cloak and white tabbard.
- Helbrecht will have red cloak and white tabbard.
- My Chaplain will have an all over red cloak as I've minor converted Asmodai to be my Chaplain.

More updates soon!

Up To Date

Well today is my first day back at work after 3 days off. It was worse than I thought.

Tonight I'm getting to grips with a little painting. My 5 man Vanguard unit, High Marshall Helbretcht, My Converted Asmodai Chaplian and my dreadnought.

Pictures will be starting to appear soon.

Got the painting fever bad. I'm not the biggest fan of painting, I prefer to game, but when I do get painting I'm quite pleased with the results (other opinions may vary).

Short but to the point post as I'm tired as hell after work, going to crash out with a cold bottle of Pepsi max, only fools and horses on the tv and the new White Dwarf.

Good night all.
